Mentoring's Big Night

Mentoring's Big Night is an annual event that honors individuals and organizations who have provided exemplary leadership in support of mentoring, celebrates the achievements of thousands of mentoring organizations and salutes the dedication of millions of volunteer mentors who have stepped up to make a difference in the lives of young people. The event spotlights outstanding approaches to mentoring, and the highlight of the evening is presentation of the Excellence in Mentoring Award to honorees.

The support given to the cause of mentoring by the prominent honorees from the worlds of business, entertainment and communications -- and the media attention they help generate around the event -- helps focus national attention on the mentoring gap, and the role each individual can play in helping to bridge the gap.

The 2007 Mentoring's Big Night took place on January 25.

About the Excellence in Mentoring Award

The Excellence in Mentoring Award is the nation's premier mentoring award for honoring the very finest mentoring programs and advocates. Honorees are selected based on their dedication to helping young people achieve their potential through mentoring. In bestowing the award, MENTOR looks for organizations and individuals who exhibit exceptional leadership and innovation.
